Since the MacOS Monterey 12.2.1 (21D62) date. When using a VPN, the internet stops working.

you must bring your VPN software completely up-to-date -OR-


remove it completely, including any VPN settings in System preferences > network > interfaces


Without the COMPLETE up-to-date package in place, any stray leftover pieces will interfere with other networking in general.
