Can someone remotely disable “find my” on my iphone
Only if they know your AppleID password and, if you use 2 factor authentication, have one of your trusted devices or access to your trusted backup telephone number to get the code.
Note that anyone with physical access to your device can simply erase it with iTunes or finder. Doing that will break Find My remote location tracking.
Here’s how it played out… I clicked on a website that showed info I had googled, immediately a black pop-up window appeared starting my phone had been installed with a virus. “If you close this widow…” So I immediately try a hard core reset, when pushing in sequence volume up, volume down, then holding the screen lock key until the apple appears after shutting down. Only it appeared and then disappeared one time, then about 5 seconds later it came back in. This happened two times. Upon turning it back in the second time, I see that I have an email from Apple stating my “find my” had been shut off during that exact same time frame.
The pop-up was fake and could easily be ignored.
Resetting the phone does not disable FindMy. But, you may have been presented a screen to enter your credentials to turn off FindMy.
No.
