Extending screen across two displays (monitors)

I have a Macbook Pro 2021 14" with two UHD external displays connected via two USB-C ports. Everything looks fine, except when I try to extend a screen (say, an Excel spreadsheet) across the two monitors, the portion of the spreadsheet on one monitor disappears.

I know on my work computer (on Windows 10), it works fine. Just wondering if Apple does or does not support extending a screen across two monitors?

thanks

apple has supported "extended desktop" on Mac displays since at least 1987. But you need to have it set up that way, not mirrored, and be sure "displays have separate spaces" is OFF.
