A friends MacBook Pro will not start and when switched on displays the following Error M<essage -Security Agent was unable to create requested Mechanism MKAuthPlugin:prelogin -
I have tried numrerous suggested cures for this problem including a reinstallation of the MacOS which takes about 90 minutes to download, after the download the above mentioned Error Message is again displayed. I would be most grateful for any suggestions to sort this problem out.

I have erased the HDD and reloaded the Catalina OS, done all the updates and this seems to solved the problem, very time consuming but the problem seems to be solved. Many thanks for the help received.

Can you run the user Diagnostic...not as definitive as Apple's own AST2 (Apple Service Toolkit) back bench diagnostic, but may kick out an error code.
