I migrated my home account from a 2010 Mac mini running El Capitan to another 2012 Mac mini running Catalina. I wanted to reinstall the iWorks apps, Pages, Numbers and Keynotes... I received the following dialog box message:

We could not complete your purchase.

Pages can’t be installed on “Planck” because macOS version 11 or later is required.

I'd upgraded the 2010 Mac mini from Snow Leopard to El Capitan...

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

It's not possible to install the current version of them on a 2012 Mac; the App Store is referring to Big Sur, not El Capitan. Migrate them from the old computer, or try logging in with an Apple ID previously used to download them.
