Monterey/Quicktime/Airplay no longer streams to TVs - stopped overnight

I had been streaming (NOT mirroring) videos from my MacBook via Quicktime for days. Sometimes between bedtime and waking up the next morning, it stopped playing on either TV and takes me to the tv screen to set up which I can't do because I don't have iPhone or iPad. It used to just play automatically when selecting the icon on the Quicktime video.

Airplay works fine from YouTube (which I don't need because I can Roku that), but that stopped in addition to Airplay stopping streaming (and telling me to set up Airplay) on a different TV.

Sorry, wordy. Airplay worked then it didn't.

Macbook: Monterey 12.1: Quicktime

I do NOT want to screen mirror. I was streaming the video to TV so I could continue working on laptop.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.1

Hey Hatetoaskbut,

Thanks for following up. Just to confirm, when you follow these steps under "Stream video from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a TV" is your device not listed when you tap the AirPlay icon even though it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network? Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. If not, reach out for additional assistance here: Get Support.

Take care.

I don't have iPhone, iPad or or iPod. I am using MacBook.

Yes, my devices show on the airplay list as available.

I select my device as usual. (one is tv w/roku and the other is a smart tv)

The video playing on my laptop goes dark.

The connection process on the TV begins and I see the indicator spinning.

The startup either continues forever until I stop it, or it times itself out and returns the video to begin playing on my laptop.

This happens on both 'TVs - different rooms. Same laptop.

Thank you, I will contact support.
