I am running OS 10.13.6 and my Apple Mail is extraordinarily slow. I've tried a few fixes and nothing has worked. It's getting to the point where I can't work with it. Getting emails takes days, sending them, well I've given up.
I know this issue has been discussed before. Did anyone ever find a good fix for this? Everything else on computer works fine.

Susan, how much free space is on your Hard Drive?
Are you running any VPN, Anti-Virus, or Cleaning apps?
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot

I'm currently clearing space on my hard drive and cleaning up all my mailboxes. I'm not running any VPN, anti-virus or cleaning apps and will try this after I've done more cleaning. I did try it briefly and it doesn't appear to have helped, but I'll finish what I'm doing and get back again.
