Startup Sound Problem

I'm sure we all love the mac os startup chime a mac plays when you turn it on, but when i turn on my mac it wont play.

I have tried everything to guides to trouble shooting and even contacting Apple themselves, they did nothing.

HELP NEEDED!

This problem is on a MacBook Air (Mid 2012)
