Changing region but keeping music library through backup?

So I'm currently on the Greek region but since I moved I want to change to France. I know that my library will be deleted after I unsubscribe from AM. But if I have a backup of the xml file of the library from iTunes and from the playlists can't I paste it back into the new French library? I know some songs might be unavailable but can it work for most songs? Thanks

You can certainly give it a try. But as you said it will be hit for miss depending on what country the song is available in. As it says in the 'Import an iTunes playlist' section of:

Save a copy of your playlists in iTunes on PC - Apple Support

"The imported playlist includes only songs and videos already in your iTunes library. Unavailable items are removed from the list."
