iMac not allowing 3rd part software to install or update
This afternoon my iMac would not allow World of Warcraft to update. WOW suggested that the anti virus software be disabled. Before I would do that, I attempted to have Webroot run a scan on the hard drive. Webroot wanted my license number (shouldn’t have needed it - it was running fine yesterday.) Input the correct number and attempted to scan the drive - it said it was preparing to run a scan and never actually did. Rebooted system and tried again - same issue.
Decided to uninstall Webroot and reinstall it.
Went to the Webroot console and told it to download the software, saw the file on the iMac, tried to open it and start the install but nothing happened. Rebooted the machine and tried again - same thing. Went to the system preferences and changed the access to allow Webroot to have access to the drive. Rebooted and tried again - same thing.
I have no idea what is going on - the machine was fine yesterday.
It's a late 2015 iMac and is running Monterrey 12.1
