iPhone 13 Pro Screen Scratches

So, I just noticed my lightly used 3 month old iPhone 13 Pro has quite a few small/light scratches on the screen. I have no idea what happened, as it is in a case and I take great care of my phones. It is almost always carried in a pocket (with no keys/etc) just like my iPhone Xs (which had almost no scratches after 3+ years of use). For the price I paid for this and the claims made by Apple, this seems like an unacceptable manufacturing defect.

Is this something AppleCare would take care of? Anyone else experience this?

Thanks.

AppleCare+ might replace a cracked screen but standard warranty will not cover damage caused in use..

I suggest you fit a glass screen protector before it gets any worse.

Advertising claims are not always borne out in reality.
