iPhone 5 Wi-Fi button is grayed out does not do anything

How do I fix this problem my iPhone 5 Wi-Fi button does not work what do ever if I try to turn it on it won’t move at all

I have already tried to reset it

here's some basic steps you can try for Wi-Fi connection issues that may be helpful: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

but eith a 9 year old phone it is probably broken and not worth repairing.
