i have just noticed on my iPhone 11 iOS 14.8 the a little green light is appearing at the top right hand side when i go to take a photo or video , i have switched off all access to all the apps that had access but it still keeps appearing, am i being spied on ?

i went to the apple info page and it says the green or orange light will come on when an app is using it , in my privacy settings i have disabled all apps but the green light still appears.

But, you stated at the beginning that you were using the camera to take a photo, yes? While it might seem somewhat weird to have the light on when you know you are using the camera, you now also would know if any of the million plus available apps has accessed the camera.

im so not iPhone savvy lol,
just to get it straight if I'm using the camera the green light will show up even if no app is using it , its actually telling me that i am using the camera
is that correct?

The camera is an app. So is the phone app.
No, you are not being spied on. The green light is simply an indicator that the camera is in use.
There is also an orange light to indicate that the microphone is in use.

Yes, if any app uses the camera, the green light will appear. This will include when you knowingly use the camera.
