Check the settings for Text Message Forwarding. If it is on, then remove the iPad Pro from the devices, then restart the iPhone and iPad, then go back into the iPhone and turn on Text Message forwarding for the iPad. I tried that. iPad 7gen and iPhone 6s. Wasn’t getting texts on iPad after update to iOS 15.2. Followed the instructions given above. Turned off text forwarding and After hard restart on both devices, I went to iPhone to turn on text forwarding and it was already turned on. So I need further help to get texts on the iPad.
If Text Message Forwarding is turned on in Messages on the iPhone, if you check the list of Allowed devices, is the iPad there and turned on? Is the iPad logged into the same Apple ID as the iPhone, and do you have your phone number and Apple ID selected on the iPad for Send & Receive?
Thanks for response. Answer to all questions is Yes. Another quirk just noticed. I tried to send a text from the iPad , after3 minutes of trying it says Not Delivered. But the recipient received it, and the text shows as sent on iPhone. The recipient responded and I got his response on the iPhone, but not on the iPad.
I am on IOS 15.2 on iPad , but still on IOS 14.8.1on iPhone. Reluctant to update iPhone after reading about trouble with 15 upgrade.
The difference in iOS between the two devices is probably what is leading to the issue. I've updated the 4 phones and 2 iPads in our family to iOS 15.2 and have not experienced a single issue. But I'm afraid you may not get it to work without having iOS 15.2 on the iPhone.
Ok, I’ll update. Thx.
Yup, that fixed it. Thanks again.
You're welcome.
