Mirroring Displays in Monterey

I wonder whether anybody else is experiencing problems when trying to mirror displays. I have an imac and 2 external displays. When I used Catalina it was very easy to mirror or un-mirror the displays (meaning I could save energy and switch off the additional screens if I didn't need them). Since upgrading to Moneterey I find that the button to "mirror displays" has been removed and there's a long winded procedure involving pressing option and dragging each monitor on top of the other. It takes a while and un-mirroring seems to be even more difficult as the displays come out in the wrong order.

Anybody else struggling with this?

Go to your Menu Bar and try the Screen Mirroring box in Focus.

If that doesn't do it, go to Apple > System Preferences > Displays > select Display settings > click on Use as: and see if you can change the desired display to Mirror.
