USB Camera failing under Monterey

after upgrading to macOS Monterey 12.0.1

Video Conference Tool: FaceTime, Google Chrome, Zoom

No video stream was available when you connect with USB


Tried all different ports, cables , VCA

No change in settings and permission

Camera has been working fine prior to MAC OS update

Have been pulling my hair out with this. The support team for my webcam hinted that some people are having success with different cables. I bought new cables and tested lots of combinations. The only thing that works is using USB-FI certified USB 3.1 gen1 or USB 3.0 gen1 cables.


Even the dell 3.1 gen2 cable that came with my USB-C monitor only worked at usb 2.0 speeds, but replaced with a gen1 cable and it is connecting at 5gbps.


Now my display, dock and all devices are connecting properly.
