Hi, When you Connect one end of a TOSLINK optical cable to the headphone port on your Mac, and connect the other end to your audio device, such as an AV receiver. Can you listening to music by streaming serviles such as Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify?

That should be possible, yes. The output is defined by the Mac and macOS and if the hardware supports it , I can't see why it would not send audio through it.
