Why my iPad does not update to 15.1?

If you're talking about iPadOS 15.1 beta version, contact Apple Beta Software Program.

If you mean iPadOS 15.0.1 official release, what happens when you try?

Assuming you're trying to update your device wirelessly (via wifi), see this suppport article:--> If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won’t update

If the issue persists, try to update it via computer:

Learn how to update your device manually if you're using a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, or if you're using a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier or a Windows PC.

A little hard to help/advise you when you provide NO information about your iPad.

Here are my questions to you.

Can you, please, confirm what year and model iPad do you have/own?

The “A” model number can be found on the aluminium back of your iPad, in very small print, right under the larger bold print “iPad” on the back of the iPad.

What iOS/iPadOS version is this iPad, currently, running?

What is the rated, internal data storage space/capacity of your iPad model and how much of this free, internal data storage capacity is left inside of your iPad model?

All of that additional info can be found in the Settings app, General settings panel, About.

Please try to attempt to answer all questions asked.

Also, iPadOS 15.1 has NOT been officially released by Apple, yet.

Hi, I have iPad Air2 & have been trying to update it to (1st update) to iPadOS 14.8.1. , & I keep getting an error that says “SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILED”. I’ve restarted, tried everything, so after a week or so I just got frustrated ( lol) & tried to jump to 15… well it downloaded but wouldn’t install, of course it said “ UNABLE to Install Update An error occurred installing iPadOS 15.1.”

I have plenty of available space on it ( it’s practically empty, I’m completely at a loss, can anyone PLEASE help me out??
