Hi there,
When I try to call someone, I can see that a call has been started, however, I can't hear anything on the other side. It is not static... it's like I'm talking to a dead phone, there is no noise at all. The people on the other side of the call hear nothing as well. What do I do???

Does your speaker and microphones work OK otherwise? See this:
If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker
Get help with the microphones on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
