How can I backup My iPhone Contacts so I can then import them onto my New iPhone

Go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud and toggle on contacts.
This will sync your contacts to the cloud and then to any other device in which you toggle on contacts.
You can also backup your entire device and set up your new phone from your backup. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203977
