Does my old iMac have a pcIe slot?

I have a iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015) and it has 256GB SSD storage

I want to know if I can upgrade nvme ssd.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 11.2

2015 iMac (27" and 21.5") have Apple's propriety NVME PCI-e slot.


Unfortunately, the slot (only 1) is located on logic board and required complete dissemble, in order to access that.

I highly discourage anyone to DIY, unless you really know how to or willing to take the risk.


In the mean time, external USB 3 SSD can serve most of speed need.
