can only import photos to iPhone using USB cord and Apple connector with difficulty (iOS 14.71)..

Open Photos on your iPhone, then tap Import. Select the photos and videos you want to import, then select your import destination. Import all items: Tap Import All. Import just some items: Tap the items you want to import (a checkmark appears for each), tap Import, then tap Import Selected.

Situation: importing jpg photos to iPad with OS14.7.1

Error message in Photos: “No files to import”

Files App shows the jpeg files at top level of connected usb stick and in DCIM folder

Same on another usb stick freshly formatted.

Sorry, the above tip “tap Import” is not helpful, with the error message “No files to import” in in the Apple Photo App, while theApple Files App shows the files.

What is the problem and how can I get around it?
