"Your Magic Keyboard doesn't need to be charged" (exctracted from the section "Charge your iPad", at the end of 1st paragraph in this support article:--> Set up and use Magic Keyboard for iPad - Apple Support)

Google tells me that the Magic Keyboard has its own battery which means that it is meant to be charged separately.

That search might have found the Mac wireless Magic Keyboard details, and not the iPad Magic Keyboard details. The former has a battery and can be operated wirelessly or wired, while the latter is directly wired to the iPad via a built-in connector.

Looks like communities are as useless as Apple Support for resolving issues, although they did realize Google was probably not going to be much help at resolving an Ipad hardware interface problem. Since this issue popped up so to speak, I would suggest rolling back IOS to a previous version to make sure the problem didn’t come from an upgrade but I’m guessing the only way to do that would be to roll it way back by resetting. Anyway, maybe Apple will find the bug they introduced and fix it in a future upgrade. In the meantime it looks like Apple Supports solution is to contact Apple Support for a solution. Who said they don’t know what they are doing?

Could you elaborate on the problems you are encountering, and with which keyboard you have issues with? This as Apple confusingly has several different “Magic Keyboard” models. Some with batteries and some without.

The original question was answered, too. There’s no battery in the “Magic Keyboard for iPad” model. It’s powered directly off the iPad.

If you do have a Magic Keyboard with a battery, it’ll need the be charged.

And after a week or so from its initial release by Apple, there are no iOS or iPadOS downgrades available, so testing hardware problems via software rollbacks tends to be problematic.
