Almost every time I handle my iPhone the camera app starts up. Is there a way to prevent the camera app from starting unless I tap the app icon?

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with the camera for your iPhone engaging when you hadn't intended it to. Is this happening when your iPhone is locked? If so, we've done a bit of digging and found that there isn't a way to remove the camera option from Lock Screen.
