Black screen issue (Ambient light sensor?)

Whenever I take a selfie with flash on, the screen turns off, but the phone remains on. I have to power off and power back on to return it to normal. This also happens sometimes when the light outside is too bright, say the sun is out. It's extremely frustrating and my phone is now out of warranty. Please give me an option to fix this. Replace the screen? Replace the front camera sensor?

This is a user to user only forum. We can't diagnose your phone from our living rooms. You may have a hardware issue and it would be advisable to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar, where they can tell you what the issue may be and offer repair options.
