MacBook Pro running slow

My MacBookPro is running slow. Applications are slow to open, or won't open at all. Webpages load slow. I often get the spinning wheel. I have an EtreCheck report. I have removed Adobe Flash Player. Can can anyone help? Thanks!

You expect a run time of ~3 minutes

<Runtime: 21:09>

<Failing hard drive - This computer has a hard drive that appears to be failing.>

<APPLE HDD ST500LM012 500.11 GB (Mechanical - 5400 RPM) >

This appears to be OEM mechcanical HD that shipped with the Mac when new. Typically you can expect a 3-5 yr life

The good news your storage is user up-gradable—recommend you change the SATA cable at the same time as a SSD.

You also can upgrade RAM to 16 GB
