'iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes'

I am trying to fix that message and I have followed the guide up to the part where you have to go on the restore screen and then connect to Itunes but I did that but the dialog won't show up on iTunes the one where it has to say 'Update Restore Iphone' and I wanted some help to fix that.
