Number of a song in a playlist

Hi!

I am a professional musician and therefore, I need some special features in my music app

In the Music App for mac I can see the number of a song in a playlist: i.E. song no. 496 in a playlist of 1,096 songs.

In IOS, this app does not display the number of a song in the playlist (i.E. song no. 496 in that particular playlist. So I cannot find Song no. 496 there because I have no orientation. [unless I remember the title, but since I hear several playlists systematically, I cannot remember each specific title])

This is the reason why i still use the iPod classic, because iPod classic can display these special numbers.. But recently, I have some problems with the synchronization of my iPod classic due to its age and extensive use.

Is there en app for IOS which can display these numbers or do I have to bye another iPod?

It may be that there is already something you can use. E.g. https://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=mxtracknameincnum with the pattern [#] [name] might be suitable, as long as you don't have the same song in multiple lists. See also https://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=mxincrementnumbertags. Something like https://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=mxremovenchars could be used to snip off the leading digits at a later date if/when required.

Thank you for your answer!

I am running macOS 10.15.7.

I am dealing with this problem for almost 20 years now.

Every once in a while, I try to contact apple for this, but this is the first time I get an answer.

I am not able to write a script, to solve this problem, nor I am willing to learn that, because I love composing music too much.

Furthermore, there are occasionally songs appearing in multiple playlists.

If you are curious about why I'm using these long playlists: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRGLFyoxJ0c and https://thomasarens-en.lhten.com/SYSTEM/Downloaded_Files/PDF/Chromatic_Tempo.pdf and https://thomasarens-en.lhten.com
