reclaim space in the Music app's column browser

I recall a time when there wasn't such an egregious amount of space wasted in the 'A' portion of the Music app's column browser (see the attached). Is there any way to reclaim that space so that more is dedicated to the actual column browser (B in the image)?

TIA,

David

Howdy,

Section A, showing the Album art and play options seems to be a function of listening to a Playlist, not of the Column Browser.

If I am playing music from a Playlist I see section A whether or not the Column Browser is active.

If I play music from "Songs" (near the top under Library), section A goes away and all I see is the Column Browser with the resizable sections.

I'm not seeing a way to resize or hide Section A when listening to a Playlist.
