The key question is carrier lock. If the phone is locked to a carrier in India it will not work with any other carrier in India or anywhere else in the world, unless the carrier it is locked to is willing to unlock it. If it is not carrier locked it will work almost anywhere in the world, but may not work on specific LTE or 5G channels. You can research this for yourself. Go to this site and find the phone model→https://www.apple.com/iphone/cellular/. Note the channels that phone supports. Compare that to this list→List of LTE networks - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and see the channel compatibility.

Hey! Thanks for replying.
I have recently been informed that on the apple website, specific compatible cellular details are mentioned and for the Model Number A2403 that is sold worldwide, it does not mention US Compatibility. https://www.apple.com/in/iphone/cellular/#iphone-12-mini
Moreover, my attempts of trying to see if my phone is eligible for buying sims from US Carriers (AT&T, Verizon etc) using my IMEI says that my phone is ineligible.
Would you happen to know why this might be happening?
There is no international iPhone. A carrier unlocked phone will work in other countries.
I do not know why it would not be compatible with the US market. Hopefully someone else will see this thread and be able to offer some feedback.
You should buy an iphone in the country you want to use it.
5G in particular has different specifications in USA, like mm wave
You will also not get warranty or repair service in a different country
