Mac OS X 10.6 can't be installed over Mac OS X Server

Hey there,

I own an 2006 intel iMac. I used a USB to boot up Snow Leopard 10.6. It works, but I am stuck on setup. On this computer, I previously had OS X Server 10.4.8 Tiger. The Snow Leopard I am trying to install is NOT a server version, it's your normal retail version os OS X Snow Leopard.

In setup I am stuck on 'Install Mac OS X.' When I click the HDD icon, 'Macintosh HD, At least ...GB free ...GB total' and press install, I get an error saying Mac OS X 10.6 can't be installed over Mac OS X Server.

I need a soultion which doesn't require 3rd party applications having to be installed on to the iMac.

Many Thanks,

Me.

Hey there Niel, I am terrible when it comes to partitioning and erasing and that kind of stuff. Do I erase '80.03 GB WDC WD800b...' (the HDD) or Macintosh HD.

Many thanks. Also when I erase, will OS X Tiger server be deleted? I want it to be deleted so I only have Snow Leopard.

Again, many thanks.
