Can’t connect IPhone with iTunes

I can no longer get my iPhone X connected to iTunes. Never had any problems with it, but now it suddenly doesn't work anymore.

Uninstalled and redownloaded iTunes several times, to no avail. I also tried a different cable and all USB ports on my laptop.

I would love to make a backup anyway, but I can't get it out. Unfortunately, I no longer have options, especially Apple Support.

can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance!

iPhone X, iOS 14
