MacBook Pro 16 why does Initial setup and Install with Big Sur do this?

MacBook Pro 16 Initial Install, All ID’s, Passwords delete by macOS Big Sur & crashes and reboots at boot up and running, also trying to update itself to Catalina on first boot after migration, Then NO Network connections will work. Tries to update to Catalina?

command-option-shift-R is the internet recovery that loads Catalina on all pre-November 2020, post October 2019 Macs.

command-R restores the existing installed system to the latest version of the existing installed system if the hard drive is not too full.


Internet Recovery as its name implies requires internet access.
