Ipad won't Charge

My iPad mini 2 has been sitting in my bag for a year and it won't charge. I did some research and it said I need the charger that came with it, but I don't have it. What do I do?

iPad mini, iOS 11

As described your battery may require replacement. Leaving a Li-ion battery unused/uncharged for extended periods is a recipe for battery failure.

Assuming that the iPad will boot and is functional when connected to its Power Adapter, you would be well advised to directly contact Apple Support - and request a remote battery test. The result of the test may better inform your next steps.

If the iPad will not boot, noting that the battery must have at least a minimum level of charge to boot - even when connected to a Power Adapter - then you have no option other than to send-in the iPad for repair, or visit the Genius Bar at an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider

You will find the Get Support link at top-right of this page. Alternatively, you can open a support case using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
