File>Open on Excel Mac Sidebar Size
When I select File>Open in Excel on my Mac, the finder sidebar size can't be adjusted. Is there any way to do this or is this not a feature in macOS?

The width of the sidebar in all native Mac apps (Pages, Safari, Numbers, TextEdit etc.) that have an Open or Save window most certainly can be adjusted, and is a feature of macOS! I don't have any Microsoft software on my iMac, so can only assume this is a problem to do with Excel. Perhaps contact Microsoft about this? Good luck!
Ryanlemmons, are you referring to the open dialog box sidebar? Also, are you talking about icon size or size of window? I use a third party app Default folder that provides additional functionality in the open/save dialog windows. It might be something to look at.

Is clicking down on the right hand side of the sidebar and dragging it to the size you want not working? Works in Excel on my system:

Meg, is your GIF a finder window? I think Ryan, is referring to the open/save dialog box. Great info if he needs to change finder sidebar size.
It is the Open document window from in Excel going to the menu File > Open.
