Big grey battery icon on lock home screen

How do I get rid of big gray battery icon on my home screen. It came out of nowhere

Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears

Battery icon- where is it? The Battery display option is not listed in Dock and Menu Bar/Sys pref/ Monterey. I did a search and it gave me a window to check the box for battery icon.
