Where do I find the serial number on the device. My iMac won’t start up

See the following from Identify your iMac model - Apple Support

• Find the serial number printed on the underside of your Mac, near the regulatory markings. It’s also on the original packaging, next to a barcode label.

If the iMac has a metal "foot" as the support, look on the bottom of the foot.
