Passcode vs password

What is the difference between passcode and password?

I would say typically a passcode is a strictly numeric code, such as when you unlock your iPhone using the 4 or 6 digit numeric code. Or an app lets you log in using a numeric code.


When you enter alphanumeric characters for things such as logging into your Apple ID, that is a password..


I'm sure there are situations where these terms are somewhat interchangeable
