Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur through the links provided. They're full-version upgrades and won't appear in the Updates list.
rkaufmann87: Cinny is using a 2017 iMac Pro.

All iMac pros can run Big Sur.
if you can't seem to get it via SystemPreferences, try clicking on Get macOS Big Sur. that will take you to it.
If your iMac is a 2011 or earlier then you cannot upgrade beyond 10.13.6. Your options are to use Turbotax's online version, another tax preparation app compatible with 10.13.6 or upgrade to a newer Mac.
Glad to hear Cinny has an up-to-date computer and can upgrade Mac OS!
