“Invalid SIM” - eSIM

my eSIM on iPhone 11 appears to have gone bad. I get “SIM failure” messages when I reboot the phone, and it says “invalid SIM” where the carrier would normally show up.

it’s not possible for me to remove the eSIM from my settings, and even restoring via DFU mode does not remove the eSIM.

googling around it seems the only way to remove an eSIM is to “erase all contents and settings” from the phone and specially say that you want to remove the eSIM, however I don’t get asked this question in this reset option.

has anybody else come across this issue?

Today my eSIM indicates “Invalid SIM”.

The way I fixed: Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network settings.

iPhone is going to reset, then your iPhone is going to detect two eSIM’s, then setup your Primary and Secondary lines.

Mhhh is that to say that the carrier is able to remotely delete the eSIM from my phone?

Surely they could just deactivate it, but it’ll remain “stored” in my phone.

I find it amazing that there appears to be no way users can delete an eSIM from their phone. Surely there must be a way?
