can't use finder because it freezes continuously/doesn't respond (Macbook Pro Retina early 2015; Mojave)

MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015; OS 10.14.6 (Mojave); 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3; SSD storage

Everytime I open the finder or simply click on a file, the finder freezes. It eventually starts working again after a long wait, but as soon as I click again on a file/try to do anything on the finder it freezes again (relanching the finder doesn't help). All other programs/functions work fine and won't freeze.

I tried what was recomended under a similar question: moving the com.apple.finder.plist to the desktop and restarting the macbook, but it didn't work (and was pretty difficult because the finder kept freezing at every step)

I hope someone can help me, greetings,

Sebastiano

Run Disk Utility First Aid on the hidden Container. Within Disk Utility click on "View" and select "Show All Devices" so that the hidden Container appears on the left pane of Disk Utility. Even if First Aid reports everything as "Ok" click on "Show Details" and look for any unfixed errors or warnings. If you see any unfixed errors listed, then you will need to erase the whole physical drive and restore from a backup or clone.

Run the Apple Diagnostics.

Run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper.

You can also try booting into Safe Mode.

I don't see any issues with the software although you do have couple of items installed with which I am unfamiliar. Perhaps another contributor can chime in here.

You appear to have a third party Transcend SSD installed.

As far as the First Aid snapshot error in theory an error with a snapshot should not affect the normal operation of the Mac. However, this error appears it may be preventing First Aid from scanning the whole Container. If this error is preventing First Aid from scanning the rest of the Container, then I would delete this corrupted snapshot and run First Aid again. Here is an article with instructions on how to thin and delete APFS snapshots:
