Calendar app, fetch new data, ios 14.3

Hello all, greetings,

In my calendar settings I have subscribed to a calendar and it's settings are set to fetch new data every 15 minutes. Now I am experiencing that the changes in the subscribed calendar only updates when I open the app and stay there for some seconds.

Why is this happening. Please help

Also can you please explain what happens if the fetch settings are set to manually and automatically because I think when one of these are set only then I need to open my app so the changes can take place.

I hope you will help me.

Thanking you.

Meet.

You may know that there are two settings (Fetch and Push Mails) and they are for an email account and there are no separate calendar specific such triggers that I know of. What have you set? Watch the GIF below

Google, AOL, Yahoo - Only Fetch mail Option is available

iCloud, Exchange, Outlook - Both Fetch and Push Mail option is available

  1. Push Mail: Whenever possible the email client will push mails to all your devices.
  2. Fetch Mail: You need to set How you want it to be fetched, Automatically, Manually , Hourly,Every 30 mins, every 15 mins
    1. Automatically: will fetch when the iPhone is powered and on WiFi
    2. Manually: with fetch when you open email, open Inbox and swipe down
    3. You get an email notification as soon as the client server receives an email and your device is connected to internet, irrespective of whether the mail is in your device's Inbox or not

Hey, thanks for your reply. I got your point but I have one more question that is that when an event is added to one of my subscribed calendar it does not show up in the calendar widget but as soon as I open the app ( I am able to see the event in the app) the widget then updates.

In short I need to open my calendar app to update events in my calendar widget.

Please help sir.

Thanks
