Macbook Pro display is not bright

My Macbook Pro display, whilst still visible to the naked eye, is awfully dimmer than it's original setting. (and this is at full brightness level). What's weirder is, at the bottom of the display screen, I can clearly see patches of bright display spots, if that makes sense. But otherwise, everywhere else is dim. Anyone knows how I can fix this issue?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

You do not say what exact mac this is...

non the less see if you qualify: Service Program—

You can always try Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

ah, yes apologies. it is a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports). The first link you posted does describe the situation that I'm facing quite accurately, so I've gone to set up an appt to get it repaired, hopefully all will be okay then. Thanks!
