i am locked out of my old iphone. How do I retrieve the passcode to get back into it

I forgot my passcode and cannot get into my old phone. How can I retrieve or change the code so I can access the phone?

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 13

If the phone is already disabled, you can't.

Restoring and erasing it to reset the passcode is your only option right now.
