iPhone refund

I purchased the new 12 max pro and sent back my 7 plus for a refund to my credit card. The process was approved but the email confirmation I got shows that it’s refunding the money to the credit card that I purchased my 7 plus on 4 years ago but I no longer have that card. I assumed it would just send it to card I purchased my 12 pro max on. Can you please clarify this?
