Switched from Apple router to NETGEAR NightHawk AX6 RAX45-100NAS using my same MAC I get the message that "MY NETWORK" requires a WPA2 password. I am using that choice I will continue to try some others close to that also. But ????

several things happen "behind the scenes" when you change Routers.

To quickly recover, your Wi-Fi should be using DHCP, not manual addresses.

Then use:

System preferences > networks > Wi-Fi > (advanced) | Wi-Fi ...

DELETE all the networks shown.

Then when you try to re-connect, take care to enter the new passwords, and they will be saved correctly for you, using the correct encryption as well.
