Hi I am using a macbook pro and the keys of keyboard are not lighting up?

If the ambient light is bright—it will automatically disable the backlight. You can try covering the facetime camera/light sensor to test.
Turn your Mac keyboard's backlighting on or off - Apple Support
Adjust the brightness of your backlit keyboard - Apple Support
if you still have an issue— for back light
