Photos taking up storage for unknown reason

For some reason my photos are taking up 14gb of storage even though i have only 8 photos in my gallery. Ive checked my icloud and even there its only 6gb. Anyone know how to fix this?

Have you tried toggling Photos off/on under Settings > Name > iCloud > Photos?
