Emails disappeared

Almost all my emails have disappeared out of my inbox, I know they weren't deleted, and I don't know how to get them back. I have an iCloud backup, but unsure as to how to restore my backup and check if the emails are on there. There are important emails that have just been losted.

How do I recover emails deleted from iCloud. I thought I was cleaning the inbox of my gmail account (from Outlook). I was in iCloud at the time doing the deletions. When I returned to my gmail, ALL of my emails were gone with the exception of 4 emails that I moved to the account. How do I recover ALL of my emails?
