Recover notes

All of my notes on my phone have been deleted. I can't find them anywhere, I already went to icloud drive and there is no folder for deleted notes. The note app also doesn't have a deleted notes folder not does the notes folder in icloud.com . I have no idea how this happened because when I go to setting my notes backup is on and I didn't delete them. If I press the switch it says that all notes will be deleted from my phone so I press cancel but I don't even have any notes anymore :( please help
